Florida State, Boise State set up home-and-home series

Florida State and Boise State announced Monday they will play a home-and-home series in 2019 and 2020, reports ESPN.com.

Boise State will travel to Tallahassee for a game scheduled for Sept. 7, 2019 and it will be the first-ever meeting between the football programs. The Seminoles will make the return trip to Idaho on Sept. 14, 2020. The two schools will exchange $400,000 in guarantees for the games.

"Boise State has an excellent football program, and we feel this will be an out-of-conference game that will be exciting for fans of both schools and appealing to TV networks," Florida State athletic director Randy Spetman said in a statement.

Florida State has been trying to upgrade its nonconference schedule. They will play Oklahoma State in Dallas to kick off the 2014 season.

"We've listened to our fans that they want to see a little different level of opponent to make sure they come to town," Spetman said. "That's what they want to see us playing. You can't do it all in the first year because we schedule out ahead of ourselves, but we're making some adjustments."
