The New York Jets appear likely to trade star cornerback Darrelle Revis, and the Falcons and 49ers have emerged as two possible trade partners, reports the New York Daily News' Manish Mehta.

The Jets have spent the offseason trying to decide what to do with the four-time Pro Bowl cornerback. Revis is among the NFL's best defensive players, but he is coming off a torn ACL and wants a long-term contract.

A source told Mehta that Revis will be traded.

“He’s gone,” a source familiar with the situation said Tuesday. “This is happening. They’re moving him. They can’t keep him. They’re rebuilding. They’re starting fresh.”

The 49ers have long been rumored as a possible destination for Revis. San Francisco has a need at cornerback and a bevy of draft picks it could trade. The 49ers, the reigning NFC champions, may feel that Revis is a player who can put them over the top.

Mehta also reports the Falcons have interest. Atlanta general manager Thomas Dimitroff has shown a willingness to deal draft picks for a shot at one star player. The Falcons traded up 21 spots in the 2011 draft to grab wide receiver Julio Jones, a move that helped key their run to the NFC title game this year.

Multiple reporters on Twitter have since reported that the Falcons do not have serious interest in trading for the cornerback at this time.
