The Wooden Player of the Year Award committee announced on Saturday its finalists for the coveted prize, a list that includes 15 players from 13 schools and is considered wide open.

The list includes three players who did not make cut on the midseason Top 25 list: Gonzaga’s Kelly Olynyk, Indiana’s Victor Oladipo, and Miami’s Shane Larkin. It also includes the nation's top two scorers: Virginia Tech's Erick Green and Creighton's Doug McDermott. And three freshmen made the list — UNLV's Anthony Bennett, Kansas' Ben McLemore, and Oklahoma State’s Marcus Smart.

Other players who are among the finalists include Michigan's Trey Burke, Georgetown's Otto Porter Jr., Indiana's Cody Zeller, Duke's Mason Plumlee, Kansas' Jeff Withey, Ohio State's DeShaun Thomas, and South Dakota State's Nate Wolters.
