Grambling State men's basketball team finishes season 0-28

Grambling State‘s men basketball team just completed a season for the record books.

The team finished the 2012-13 season 0-28 after losing in the quarterfinals of the Southwestern Athletic (SWAC) tournament 59-51 to Alabama A&M Wednesday night. The team has a bit to go to set the record for the longest losing streak in Division I history. That record is held by Towson, who lost 41 in a row in 2011 and 2012.

It was the first loss all season by the team that wasn't by double digits. The team entered the tournament dead last in the nation in scoring average and scoring margin. They also ranked 340th (out of 345 Division I teams) or worse in points scored, scoring defense, field goal percentage and turnovers per game.

Grambling also went 0-18 in conference play during the regular season.
