Anaheim Ducks acquire David Steckel from Maple Leafs

The Anaheim Ducks have acquired center David Steckel from the Toronto Maple Leafs on Friday in exchange for Ryan Lasch and a seventh-round pick in the 2014 NHL draft.

Steckel would re-join Anaheim Ducks head coach Bruce Boudreau after playing for him with the Washington Capitals and AHL's Manchester Monarchs.

"Adding David Steckel gives us another big body and depth up the middle," Ducks general manager Bob Murray said. "He comes highly recommended from Bruce. Faceoffs have been something of a concern for us the last few seasons. Steckel is a tremendous faceoff man and penalty killer, something that will really help our club."
