Report: Elvis Dumervil parts ways with agent Marty Magid after contract snafu

The day after a contract snafu that forced him into free agency, defensive end/linebacker Elvis Dumervil has parted ways with agent Marty Magid, according to The Baltimore Sun's Aaron Wilson.

Dumervil and Magid agreed to a restructured deal that would have involved the player accepting a $4 million pay cut, according to the Associated Press, but the team received the signed contract seven minutes after the deadline.

Magid blamed the Broncos for the error, telling USA Today that the team made late changes to the financial details. There is no animosity between Dumervil and the agent, according to Wilson.

Magid works for MRM Sports & Entertainment, which also represents mostly low-profile players, such as Ravens running back Bernard Pierce. He will waive the five-day waiting period the NFLPA requires for players wanting to change agents, Wilson is reporting.
