Reports: Ed Reed agrees to two-year deal with Houston Texans

After 11 years in Baltimore, safety Ed Reed has agreed to sign with the Houston Texans, according to CBSSports.com's Jason La Canfora.

A two-year contract agreement is in place between the two sides, but "a few minor language issues" are still being worked out, La Canfora is reporting. The deal is believed to be worth between $4 and $6 million.

ESPN's Adam Schefter confirmed that Reed is "on the verge" of joining the Texans.

Reed helped anchor the Ravens' dominant defenses over the past decade, intercepting 61 passes to move into 10th place all-time. In his final season in Baltimore, the 34-year-old picked off four passes, including a second-quarter interception of Colin Kaepernick in the Super Bowl, and won his first Super Bowl ring.

Baltimore selected him with the 24th overall pick in the 2002 draft.

Reed leaves the 12th-ranked defense in points per game in 2012 for the 9th-ranked defense. Houston allowed 41 points in a divisional-round loss to the Patriots last season, with eight-year veteran Danieal Manning and five-year veteran Glover Quin as its starting safeties.
