Los Angeles Lakers forward Metta World Peace is expected to miss six weeks after he has surgery tomorrow to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee, the team announced.

World Peace injured his knee in Monday’s 109-103 loss to the Golden State Warriors and did not return to the game. He had seven points and two steals in 19 minutes before leaving the game.

World Peace is averaging 12.8 points and 5.1 rebounds in 70 games this season for the Lakers (36-35) who are hanging on to the final Western Conference playoff berth.
