Kentucky basketball: Archie Goodwin turning pro; Kyle Wiltjer, Willie Cauley-Stein returning

Kentucky is bringing in a loaded recruiting class next season. Those freshmen will have some veteran help.

The school announced in a press release that two contributors will return to school, while freshman guard Archie Goodwin will head to the NBA Draft. There's no word yet on freshman Alex Poythress.

Goodwin started 33 games and led the team in scoring at 14.1 points per game.

Cauley-Stein, a raw big man, scored 8.3 points and grabbed 6.2 rebounds per game. His role increased after freshman center Nerlens Noel tore his left ACL in February.

Wiltjer scored 10.2 points per game this season as a sophomore. His shooting ran hot and cold throughout the season, though.

Cauley-Stein and Wiltjer will have to compete for playing time next year when a half-dozen highly touted players arrive on campus. Six Kentucky recruits rank in the top 21 of the Scout.com rankings: Andrew Harrison (No. 3), Aaron Harrison (No. 4), Julius Randle (No. 5), James Young (No. 10), Dakari Johnson (No. 18) and Marcus Lee (No. 21).

And that's not even including the biggest prize of the recruiting season: top recruit Andrew Wiggins, who is still weighing four schools, including -- of course -- Kentucky.
