Report: Matt Flynn traded to Raiders

The Seattle Seahawks will trade backup quarterback Matt Flynn to the Oakland Raiders for two draft picks, reports FOX's Jay Glazer on Twitter.

One pick is in the 2014 Draft, and another conditional selection is in the 2015 Draft, Glazer subsequently tweeted.

Seattle had been expected to trade Flynn this offseason. He signed a three-year, $26 million contract with the Seahawks last offseason. Flynn had success in limited action as Aaron Rodgers' backup in Green Bay and was believed to be looking for a chance to start.

But rookie Russell Wilson won the quarterback competition during training camp and had a stellar first season. Flynn became expendable.

This trade should lead to the completion of another anticipated move: Oakland's trade of Carson Palmer to the Cardinals. Palmer should help answer one question for Arizona: Who can get the ball to Larry Fitzgerald consistently?
