Former West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith took exception to a report by Pro Football Weekly that ripped his work ethic, football IQ and leadership.

The report also said that Smith "interviewed poorly with teams at the combine and did not show an understanding of concepts on the white board."

Smith is expected to be a low-round selection during the NFL Draft later this month. He said he isn't worried about people talking bad about his body of work.

"It's untrue in all things,'' Smith told USA TODAY. "I heard about it (Monday) night when my quarterbacks coach called me to tell me about it. You're going to get an extremely hard-working, character guy. I don't get in trouble. I'm not a flashy guy. Once I get into an organization, I'm going to work morning to night to lead my team ultimately to win Super Bowls. That's really my lifelong dream."
Smith went 26-13 as the starter at West Virginia in his career, and his senior year at the school completed 71 percent of his passes for 4,205 yards with 42 touchdowns and six interceptions.
