The NFL is "increasingly likely" to move toward a "draft" format to spice up the 2014 Pro Bowl, CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reported on Thursday.

La Canfora reported that the NFL and NFL Players Association are both receptive to the format, in which a draft for both Pro Bowl teams would likely take place on primetime television.

From La Canfora's report:

The NFLPA proposal, in which team captains and/or other parties pick players for two Pro Bowl teams once fan voting/team selection is complete, was presented to the owners two weeks ago at the league meeting and continues to generate positive momentum, sources said. There are no dissenting voices and league officials met this week to add to the skeleton they have in place for the format change, though more work must be done.

In late March, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell officially confirmed that the Pro Bowl would last at least another year. It will be played again at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii. In announcing its continuation, Goodell said the league would continue to work to make the game more attractive to fans.

"The answer going forward will be again if some of these changes are effective and positive and lead to a better event, we’ll continue to find ways to make this game better and more popular with our fans,” Goodell said. “Ultimately, that’s what we’re looking for.”
