Report: Darrelle Revis trade talks hit roadblock as Buccaneers get impatient

Trade talks between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New York Jets for star cornerback Darrelle Revis appear to have hit an impasse, as the Buccaneers are growing frustrated with the pace of negotiations.

Citing three sources, Yahoo Sports' Jason Cole reported Sunday of the roadblock between the Jets and Buccaneers, who appear to be the only serious trade partner for Revis.

From Cole's report:

The Buccaneers are not only willing to trade a combination of a first-, third- and sixth-round picks for Revis, they are also willing to pay the corner in the area of $15-16 million per year on a long-term contract.

Idzik, who did not return a text message sent to him by Yahoo! Sports, has been coy about trading Revis. He has repeatedly said he is not "actively" trying to trade Revis, though multiple teams have said he is willing to listen to offers.

At this point, the Bucs or any other team interested in having Revis long-term may simply wait until he becomes a free agent in the offseason rather than trade for him.

Cole's report came on the same day ESPN.com's Rich Cimini reported on another developing rift between Revis and the Jets. The team is insisting that they will enforce language in Revis' contract that only provides him with bonus money if he participates in the Jets' offseason conditioning program.
