Saints sign safety Jim Leonhard

The New Orleans Saints and veteran-safety Jim Leonhard agreed to terms on a one-year deal on Monday. Leonhard spent last season with the Denver Broncos, appearing in all 16 games while starting once. The six-year veteran recorded 12 tackles and two interceptions last year.

Leonhard joins a Saints defense that allowed a league-worst 440.1 yards-per-game with 5,187 yards coming through the air. Before his only campaign in Denver, Leonhard has played for the Buffalo Bills, Baltimore Ravens and New York Jets over his six professional seasons.

Leonhard tweeted a picture of the contract signing with the Saints.
