Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning is getting acquainted with his new receiver Wes Welker this offseason just in time for voluntary workouts which are slated to begin next week.

Welker signed with the team last month after spending the previous six seasons with the New England Patriots.

Manning and his brother New York Giants quarterback, Eli, are working out at Duke University with Blue Devils head coach David Cutcliffe, reports ESPN.com.

Cutcliffe was Peyton's offensive coordinator at Tennessee and Eli's head coach at Ole Miss.

Both quarterbacks brought three receiver down to Duke: Peyton Manning has Broncos teammates Eric Decker,Demaryius Thomas and Welker; Eli brought Giants teammates Hakeem NicksVictor Cruz and Louis Murphy.

"There's certain guys you just feel like you have timing with right away," Manning said. "He's a guy that has a great feel for how to get open, and understands route concepts and, of course, he played in such a sophisticated offense there in New England, so he's a smart player. You can see why he's been such a productive player. He's intense. He loves to work."
