Yankees played 'Sweet Caroline' in tribute to Boston Marathon bombing victims

The Yankees paid tribute to the victims of Monday's Boston Marathon bombings with a moment of silence and the playing of Red Sox standard "Sweet Caroline" at the end of the third inning of Tuesday night's game against the Diamondbacks at Yankee Stadium.

Neil Diamond's 1969 classic has become a Fenway Park singalong tradition during the eighth inning of Red Sox games since the late 1990s.

The Red Sox, currently in Cleveland for a three-game series with the Indians, will not return to Fenway until Friday when they play the Royals to begin a 10-game homestand.
