The Indiana Pacers have called for a Monday morning news conference in which they are expected to announce that Paul George has won the NBA's Most Improved Player award, according to multiple reports.

The 22-year-old George stepped up to fill the role of the injured Danny Granger, who missed the majority of the season with a lingering knee injury. In his third season out of Fresno State, George averaged 17.4 points, 7.6 rebounds and 4.1 assists in 37.6 minutes per game.

In the Pacers' 107-90 Game 1 victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday, George recorded the organization's first triple-double in the postseason since Mark Jackson did so in the 1998 NBA Playoffs.
