Andrew Ference to meet with NHL over elbow to Mikhail Grabovski

Boston Bruins defenseman Andrew Ference will meet with NHL Player Safety on Thursday afternoon to discuss the elbow to the face he delivered to Toronto Maple Leaf's center Mikhail Grabovski during the first period of the Bruins' Game 1 win Wednesday night in Boston. The news was first reported on Twitter by John Shannon of Sportsnet.

The referees apparently missed the blatant hit and Ference got away without penalty. In April 2011, Ference, 34, was fined $2,500 by the league for giving an obscene gesture to the crowd at the Bell Centre after scoring a goal against the Montreal Canadians.

Footage of the elbow from Wednesday night can be seen below. Game 2 between the two teams is scheduled for Saturday night.
