The Philadelphia Phillies have placed veteran right-hander Roy Halladay on the 15-day disabled list with inflammation in his right shoulder, the team said on Monday. Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. told reporters on Sunday that Halladay was going to visit Dr. Lewis Yocum about the soreness Halladay was feeling in his right shoulder. Lefthander Joe Savery has been recalled from the Phillies Triple-A affiliate to take Halladay's place on the big league roster.

In his last two starts, Halladay has allowed 17 earned runs and 13 hits in six innings of work. Halladay has a 8.65 ERA and is 2-4 in seven starts this season for the Phillies.
