Shane Victorino taken to hospital after crashing into right field wall

Boston Red Sox outfielder Shane Victorino was taken to the hospital after colliding with the right-field wall in the fourth inning on Sunday. Victorino went back on a home-run ball hit by Blue Jays infielder Emilio Bonifacio and violently crashed into the short Fenway fence in right field.

The 32-year-old outfielder stayed in the game for a few innings before being removed with what the Red Sox are calling sore ribs. Victorino went 1-for-3 on the day before being lifted in favor of a pinch-hitter. He is hitting .308 with two home runs and 10 RBI and three stolen bases.

The Red Sox lost to the Blue Jays on Sunday, 12-4.
