Baltimore Ravens linebacker Rolando McClain is retiring from the NFL at the age of 23, Ravens General Manager Ozzie Newsome said on Wednesday. Newsome announced the Ravens put the former first-round selection on the reserved/retired list.
McClain signed a one-year deal with the Ravens on April 12 but was arrested just 10 days later for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest in his hometown of Decatur, Ala. He was also arrested in January after violating tinted window regulations and lying to police about his identity. McClain was selected as the eighth-overall pick in the 2010 draft by the Oakland Raiders where he compiled 173 tackles and seven sacks over three seasons.
