La Liga soccer club Real Madrid said coach Jose Mourinho will be relieved as head coach at the end of the season, the team said on Monday. Real Madrid's President Florentino Perez revealed that Mourinho and the club mutually agreed to part ways once the 2012-2013 season comes to an end. Mourinho is expected to be replaced by former Chelsea manager, Carlo Ancelotti.

The 50-year-old coach led Madrid to win three trophies while at the helm including winning the Primera Division, Copa del Ray and Spanish Supercopa leagues. Real Madrid was knocked out of the Champions League by Borussia Dortmund in the semi-finals and lost to rival Atletico Madrid in the Copa del Ray final.

Perez said the club and Mourinho believed it was "the right time" to bring their relationship to an end.
