Second-year running back Trent Richardson was kept out of the Browns' organized team activities Thursday with a pulled muscle in his shin and might also miss the team's mandatory June 4-6 minicamp, coach Rob Chudzinski said.

From the Cleveland Plain-Dealer:

"It's precautionary,'' Chudzinski said. "We're holding him out. We've got minicamp in a week and a half. He may miss that. I'm not sure. We'll take it day-by-day.''

The Browns are expected to take extra precautions with Richardson after he missed time with two arthroscopic procedures before his rookie season. Richardson's recovery and rehab slowed his rushing at the beginning of the season. He went on to break multiple ribs that caused him to play nine games in great pain while experiencing difficulty breathing and sleeping.

Chudzinski has been impressed with Richardson's speed in practice, a pace that must be weighed considering his risk of injury.
