Jabrill Peppers, top-ranked cornerback, commits to Michigan

Jabrill Peppers, the top-ranked cornerback in the class of 2014, has committed to play football for the Michigan Wolverines. Peppers announced the decision in an interview on ESPNU.

Peppers, out of Paramus Catholic High School (N.J.) chose the Wolverines over LSU, Stanford, Notre Dame, Penn State and Rutgers. He was ranked the No. 1 cornerback prospect and No. 2 player overall by both ESPN and Rivals.

Peppers rapped a self-written verse before putting on a Michigan helmet.

"It's no secret that they've been my favorite team since I was a young kid, watching the greats playing in the Big House," Peppers said in the subsequent interview. "It was always my dream to play for Michigan.

"But, you know, being the recruit I am, I can't be biased. I tried really hard not to be by looking at all my options and just taking the whole process slowly. But once I went out there to Ann Arbor, they just completely blew me away. And it was just inevitable. It was just bound to happen. I love the coaching staff. I love the players, and Ann Arbor's just a great place to be."

Peppers joins a loaded Michigan class that was already ranked No. 1 by ESPN.com prior to his commitment. Michigan and head coach Brady Hoke have already lured eight four-star recruits into committing, including No. 4 pocket-passer quarterback Wilton Speight and No. 7 defensive tackle Bryan Moan.
