The Los Angeles Dodgers placed outfielder Matt Kemp on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right hamstring, the team announced Thursday. The team recalled Tim Federowicz to take his place on the roster. Kemp strained his hamstring in the Dodgers' Wednesday night loss to the Los Angeles Angels.

Last season, Kemp missed more than 50 games with an injury to his left hamstring. After suffering the injury on Wednesday, he told reporters that he didn't think this injury compared to last season's.

"It's not as bad as last year," Kemp said, according to the Los Angeles Times. "But when you feel it grab, you have to take it easy and make sure you're careful with it because it can get worse."

Kemp has struggled so far this season, batting .251 with just two homers and 17 RBI.
