Ohio State University president Gordon Gee sent Arkansas head coach Brett Bielema an email apology in the wake of some inappropriate comments Gee made on Friday. In his email to Bielema, Gee said his remarks were "entirely unfounded and speculative" about Bielema's relationship with Wisconsin athletic director Barry Alvarez and the University of Wisconsin.

Gee said Bielema was viewed as a "thug" in the eyes of Alvarez and Bielema's departure as head coach of Wisconsin was a "blessing" for the University. Bielema called Gee's apology "a start" and he would take a phone call from Gee shortly.
