The Grizzlies have granted the Clippers permission to interview head coach Lionel Hollins, but have not given the Nets the same privilege, according to Ronald Tillery of the Memphis Commercial Appeal.
Although Hollins has gone on the record saying he wants to return to the Grizzlies, the Los Angeles Times reported that Hollins and his agent, Warren LeGarie, have reached out to the Clippers about their vacant head coaching position.
Yahoo! Sports reported Sunday that the Grizzlies and Hollins are most likely to part ways after negotiations stalled on a contract extension. Hollins coached the Grizzlies to four consecutive seasons of 40 wins or more including 56 wins and the Western Conference Finals this season, and has been lauded for helping the team become better defensively.
