Montreal Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban will win the NHL's Norris Trophy, given to the league's top defenseman, reports SportsNet.

The award given annually to “the defense player who demonstrates throughout the season the greatest all-around ability in the position." It is given by the league's writers association and will be announced along with the rest of the 2013 NHL Awards winners on the day of Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals.

Subban missed time early this season because of a contract dispute but came on strong throughout the season. He led all NHL defensemen in scoring with 11 goals and 27 assists while continuing to be a nuisance to the  league's opposing forwards.
