Former Boston Celtics forward Antoine Walker has expressed interest in becoming the next head coach of the Celtics. Walker took to his Twitter timeline to proclaim that he should be the next Celtics coach and that "it's time for new young coaches" in the NBA.

The Celtics traded former head coach Doc Rivers to the Los Angeles Clippers for an unprotected first-round pick in the 2015 NBA Draft. Walker, 36, retired from playing professional basketball after spending last year in the NBA Developmental League. Walker was at the recent scouting combine in hopes of landing a job as a scout or a position in a front office.

Walker spent five seasons with the Celtics, reaching the Eastern Conference Finals in 2002 but has no coaching experience to speak of. Walker is hoping to continue the trend set by Jason Kidd and the Brooklyn Nets with recent retirees becoming a head coach.
