The Chicago Bulls are discussing an extension of forward Luol Deng's contract, according to a Yahoo! Sports report. Deng has one year and $14.3 million left on his contract, and the team's management has been engaged in conversations with his representative Herb Rudoy since the team's exit from the postseason.

Deng, 28, is a two-time All-Star and averaged 16.5 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game this past season. He was chosen in the first round (7th overall) of the 2004 draft by the Bulls and has spent the entirety of his 9-year career with the team.

From the Yahoo! Sports report:

Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau has long considered Deng an indispensable part of his roster, relying heavily on him as an anchor on the defensive end of the floor.
