Corey Hart to undergo season-ending knee surgery

Milwaukee Brewers first baseman/outfielder Corey Hart will undergo season-ending surgery on his left knee, according to Michael Hunt of the Milwaukee-Journal SentinelHart will have surgery on his left knee to repair a chondra defect on July 26 in Los Angeles by Neal Elattrache of the Korlan Jobe Clinic

Hart had yet to appear in a game for the Brewers this season while he was rehabbing a right knee injury that put him on the disabled list since the beginning of Spring Training. According to a CBS Sports report, Hart allegedly hurt his left hamstring while "overcompensating" during his rehab for his right knee. Hart, 31, is eligible to be a free-agent at the end of the season.

Hart hit 30 home runs with a .270 average last season for the Brewers.
