Tigers pitcher Rick Porcello has received a six-game suspension and an undisclosed fine for intentionally throwing at Ben Zobrist on Sunday, Major League Baseball announced Tuesday.

The Tigers and Rays were warned by home plate umpire Vic Carapazza after Porcello hit Zobrist with a pitch in the first inning of Sunday's game. The incident occurred a day after Miguel Cabrera yelled at the Rays dugout after closer Fernando Rodney struck him out in the 10th inning. Rodney threw an in-tight-and-up pitch to back Cabrera off the plate during the at-bat.
