The Los Angeles Clippers have signed Darren Collison to a two-year deal. The salary is $1.9 million for the first year, per USA Today's Sam Amick.

Collison became an unrestricted free agent after the Dallas Mavericks declined to offer him a $4.5 million qualifying offer. Coach Rick Carlisle made his dissatisfaction with Collison known last season, demoting him to a backup role behind Derek Fisher and Mike James.

The Clippers' latest addition has sputtered in the NBA since a promising rookie season in New Orleans, filling in for Chris Paul. He lost his starting job in Indiana to George Hill, and his starting spot in Dallas to former Wizard Mike James after averaging 12 points and 5.1 assists.

Collison reportedly drew interest from the Cavaliers and Wizards before signing with the Clippers. He was expected to be out of the Wizards' price range. The Golden State Warriors also reportedly expressed interest in signing Collison if Jarret Jack left via free agency.
