Cowboys' Josh Brent out of jail on court order

Embattled Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Josh Brent was released from jail on Sunday, Dallas County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Carmen Castro told the Dallas Morning News.

Brent's release came just less than two weeks after he went back into Dallas County's custody due to allegedly testing positive twice for having the presence of marijuana in his system. According to the Dallas Morning News, a court order freed Brent.

Brent is facing a charge of intoxication manslaughter in a Dec. 8, 2012, car crash that killed good friend and Cowboys practice player Jerry Brown. Authorities said that Brent was driving with a blood-alcohol content more than twice the legal limit in Texas. Months later, a judge ordered more monitoring for Brent until his trial begins in the fall.

He returned to jail on June 27, after drug tests both earlier in June and in May reportedly tested positive for a presence of marijuana.
