Italian forward Luigi "Gigi" Datome has decided to sign with the Pistons, according to a post he put on his Facebook wall Tuesday morning. The translation of the post, according to Hoops Rumors, reads:

"I decided to become a player for the Detroit Pistons. I think it may be the right place for me to make a quantum leap in my career and to fulfill the dream of a lifetime. I am very excited to join the group of players in Detroit. I want to thank my family, the President Toti, all Virtus Roma and with it his fans for their continued support and wish to Virtus the best for the future."

Datome, 25, previously played for Virtus Roma and was last year's Italian League MVP. He averaged 16.4 points and 5.6 rebounds per game and shot 51.5 percent from the field over the course of 48 games.

According to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski, the deal is $3.5 million for two years:
