The Marlins have signed their first-round draft pick, third baseman Colin Moran, according to the Sun Sentinel's Juan C. Rodriguez. Moran, 20, is a junior at UNC and was selected sixth overall by the Marlins in the June Amateur Draft.

The deadline for teams to sign draft picks is Friday at 5:00 p.m. ET.

Moran hit .345 with 13 home runs and 91 RBIs for the Tar Heels last season. He started in all of the team's 71 games that year. He was also the only freshman named to the All-America team in 2011.

Rodriguez reports that Moran is getting the slot recommended bonus for the sixth pick, $3.5 million. https://twitter.com/JCRMarlinsbeat/status/355403344648478720
