Atlanta Braves right fielder Jason Heyward left Thursday night's game against the Cincinnati Reds with a strained right hamstring, the Braves announced. The club said that he will be re-evaluated on Friday.

The immediate severity of the injury wasn't clear. Heyward strained his hamstring on a slide at third base, while advancing to third on Justin Upton’s infield hit. Reed Johnson replaced Heyward in the lineup.

The 23-year-old Heyward is hitting .227 with seven homers and 21 RBI in 66 games this season, reverting back to more of his 2011 form than that of a productive 2012.

He missed 22 games earlier this season after undergoing an emergency appendectomy.
