LSU sophomore running back Jeremy Hill pled guilty on Friday to simple battery, receiving a six-month suspended jail sentence, reports WBRZ, a Baton Rouge, La. television station.

Hill was suspended indefinitely from the football team in April after he was accused of punching a man at a Baton Rouge bar and knocking him unconscious. Hill was already on probation at the time of the fight after pleading guilty in 2012 to a charge of sexual oral battery.

Hill was formally charged with simple battery, a misdemeanor, earlier this week. He was sentenced to two years of probation, 50 hours of community service, must pay $375, which is half of the victim's medical bills and write a letter of apology.

Hill led LSU in rushing with 755 yards and 12 touchdowns in his freshman season.

The report states Hill also received a six-month suspended jail sentence and has to give weekly updates to a probation officer. Hill was also ordered to not make any comments to the press or on social media.
