Tampa Bay Buccaneers kicker Connor Barth will miss the season after tearing his Achilles tendon, the team announced Wednesday on Twitter. Tampa Bay signed veteran Lawrence Tynes to take his place.

Barth was hurt while playing in a charity basketball game last week, the team said in a media release. He had surgery Monday but won't return this year.

Barth made 28 of 33 field goal attempts last season, including six of nine from 50 yards or more. He's spent the past four seasons with Tampa Bay.
