Reports: Clippers, Byron Mullens agree to two-year deal

Byron Mullens (left) has signed a two-year deal with the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Los Angeles Clippers have reached a two-year, $2 million deal with free agent Byron Mullens, according to Yahoo! Sports.

Mullens will hold a player's option for the second year of the deal, sources said.

The Clippers are continuing to build a team for next season, having already re-signed their star Chris Paul and added guards J.J. Redick and Jared Dudley.

Mullens, 24, was the 24th overall pick in the 2009 draft. In his four NBA seasons, Mullens has spent two with Oklahoma City and two with the Charlotte Bobcats, averaging 8.4 points and 4.8 rebounds a game. Last season, the 7-footer averaged 10.4 points and 6.4 rebounds with the Bobcats.

He became an unrestricted free agent after the Charlotte Bobcats did not extend a qualifying offer to him. The Lakers reportedly expressed interest in Mullens in early July.
