The name for the bowls under the College Football Playoff semifinal rotation that's set to begin at the end of the 2014 season will be called the "New Year’s Six," according to ESPN.com.

The Sugar Bowl and Rose Bowl, which will have the semifinals on Jan. 1, 2015, and the Orange, Cotton, Chick-fil-A and Fiesta Bowls make up the rest of the field.  Those bowls will serve in a rotation where each site will host a semifinal game every three seasons.
