Wide receiver Dwayne Bowe has been placed on the non-football injury list because of a chest virus, Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid confirmed Friday.

Bowe is said to be congested. He did not practice Friday but is expected to return to the field soon.

A 2007 first-round pick by the Chiefs, Bowe caught 59 passes for 801 yards and three touchdowns last season before missing the final three games with a rib injury. He signed a five-year extension in the offseason.
