Philadelphia Phillies lefty Cliff Lee will be scratched from his upcoming start on Saturday against the Detroit Tigers with a stiff neck, according to Fox Sports reporter Jon Morosi.

Lee has struggled of late, allowing four or more runs in his last three starts including allowing seven hits and five runs to the New York Mets in his last start on July 21.

Lee has been the center of trade rumors as the trading deadline looms on Wednesday, July 31. Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. said he would “not put any absolutes” on any trade possibilities regarding veteran Phillies like Lee, Chase Utley or Carlos Ruiz. Amaro Jr. also said he owes it to the organization to listen to trades for any player on the roster if other teams are making offers.

Lee, 34, is 10-4 with a 3.04 ERA and a 1.01 WHIP for the Phillies so far this season.
