Los Angeles Lakers point guard Steve Nash will tryout of Inter Milan before the soccer club partakes in the Guinness International Champions Cup, according to an Associated Press report. Nash will take part in tryouts being held in New Jersey before Inter Milan opens play in Indianapolis against Chelsea.

Nash, an avid soccer fan, is part of the ownership group of the Vancouver Whitecaps of Major League Soccer. His father, John, played professional soccer in South Africa and England.

Nash said he expects to be 100 percent healthy for the upcoming season and said he's "excited" for another opportunity with the Lakers. Nash scored 12.7 points with 6.7 assists in 50 games with the Lakers this season.

Nash commented on his tryout with Inter Milan:

"It's a dream come true to get a chance to try out, not just to try out but to take the field with Inter Milan, one of the great, storied franchises in professional sports," Nash said in an interview with the Associated Press. "I feel like a little kid."
