Fullback Vonta Leach is on the verge of re-signing with the Baltimore Ravens, The Star-Ledger's Dave Hutchinson reported Thursday.

Leach, who was released by the Ravens last month, has also garnered interest from the New York Giants, Houston Texans, and Miami Dolphins. He visited Miami, but the Dolphins decided not to offer him a contract before training camp to determine their personnel situation.

Last month, Leach and the Ravens were unable to work out a compromise that would have reduced Leach’s $3 million base salary. That was despite Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome and vice president of football administration Pat Moriarty “aggressively attempting" to do so. The Ravens had a standing one-year, $2 million offer to Leach — and it appears he is ready to take that, or something similar.
