All-Star closer Brian Wilson, who hasn't thrown a Major League pitch since April of 2012, will sign with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Tim Brown of Yahoo! Sports reports.

Wilson, 31, will be expected to shore up a major weakness for the Dodgers, who have the fifth-most blown saves in MLB this season with 16. A mere 65 percent of the Dodgers' 46 save opportunities have been converted. Only four National League teams are worse in that regard.

A three-time All-Star with the San Francisco Giants, Wilson saved 41, 38, 48 and 36 games during a four-season stretch, from 2008 to 2011. He hasn't appeared in a game since April 12, 2012, when he threw 32 pitches against the Colorado Rockies, a day after throwing 24. Wilson underwent Tommy John surgery a week later. The right-hander had the same surgery performed in 2003 when he was in college at LSU.

The Giants declined to offer Wilson a $6.8 million deal after they won the World Series in 2012, the minimum contract to retain Wilson's rights.
