The New York Mets placed third baseman David Wright on the 15-day disabled list earlier Saturday with a hamstring strain, but manager Terry Collins expects the All-Star to miss significantly more time.

Collins classified Wright's right hamstring strain as "Grade 3" and said Saturday he will be out anywhere from three to five weeks.

JAFFE: Loss of Wright a crushing blow to Mets

Wright is hitting .309 this season, with 16 homers and 54 RBIs. The Mets are 10 games back in the National League Wild Card hunt.
