U.S. women's soccer star and Portland Thorns forward Alex Morgan suffered a mild MCL sprain of her left knee and was carried off on a stretcher on Wednesday night after she collided with a Boston Breaker defender.

Morgan injured her left knee in the 10th minute of the 2-1 loss after colliding with the Breakers’ Jazmyne Avant. She is expected to be out two to four weeks.

She went to the dressing room but returned and watched the remainder of the game from the sideline with a large brace on her left knee. Portland had already qualified for the inaugural National Women's Soccer League playoffs before the loss.
