Both of the Pittsburgh Steelers' top two running backs, rookie Le'Veon Bell and Isaac Redman, were injured during practice on Thursday and did not return after leaving the field, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Gerry Dulac reported.

Bell, the Steelers' second-round draft pick, re-aggravated a sore knee midway through practice. He missed the Steelers' first preseason game because of the knee. According to Dulac, he ended a stretch-run play by falling into a "pile of players."

Redman, meanwhile, suffered a stinger after a hit in practice from inside linebacker Larry Foote. Head coach Mike Tomlin didn't seem too concerned about either of the injuries, however. He said Redman would be back in practice "as soon as he regains strength," and he said bluntly that he wasn't concerned Bell's knee injury had worsened.

The 28-year-old Redman rushed for 410 yards on 110 attempts last season. Bell rushed for 1,740 yards last season at Michigan State.
