Report: Trevor Knight, Blake Bell still competing for Oklahoma QB gig

Oklahoma has yet to decide on a starting quarterback, with Trevor Knight and Blake Bell still competing to take over for Landry Jones, Jason Kersey of The Oklahoman reports.

It was reported Monday night by another outlet that Knight, a redshirt freshman, had surpassed Bell.

Coming out of high school, Bell was rated by Rivals.com as the No. 6 pro-style quarterback, but so far at Oklahoma he's been mostly a runner in short-yardage situations, operating as the "Belldozer." He's scored 24 rushing touchdowns the last two seasons. As a passer, the results have been mixed. Bell, a junior, has completed only 20 career passes, going 9-for-16 in 2012 for 107 yards.

Knight obviously has no game experience but was a dual-threat player at San Antonio Reagan. As a junior in high school, he rushed for over 1,000 yards and threw for more than 1,600, with 33 total touchdowns.
